Yes, you can pay merchants in the app. Access the Pay section, select Merchants, select the category of the merchant and scroll to find the merchant. You can also find a merchant by searching for the merchant in the Merchants search bar on the Merchant Screen [Merchants link] or by searching for a merchant on the Search section of the App [Search link]
